My days often start with a project in mind, like clean out the closet, and then as I embark on the project I get sidetracked big time. Today my project was to organize my crafting zone. To do this I had to finish painting a piece of furniture that someone was throwing out. It is a mid-century modern little buffet, which will be a perfect storage place for my fabrics and notions. So as I walked into the garage to finish the painting, I looked over at my shelves and saw all of these plates and candle stick holders I had purchased months ago. Craft project commences.

Add a little epoxy.

My idea when I bought the plates and candle stick holders was to make cake/treat stands. I started putting plates and candlestick holders together in different combinations, I finally decided on this red and gold plate with a gold candlestick holder. A perfect display for my holiday cookies!

Everything looks cooler using the hipsta app!
So as for the original project, organizing my craft zone, that will be put off for at least another day. I did get the free furniture painted and ready to haul up to my room.
It turned out pretty cool. I didn't take a before picture because I picked it up and started the paint job before the blogs inception. But to give you an idea it was an ugly cafeteria gray and white formica, I primed it and painted it a coffee color. I think it will be a perfect addition to my crafting area!
